Household Sewage Treatment Systems Replacement & Repair Program
TLCHD has been awarded a total of $600,000, through two separate grant awards from OEPA, to assist homeowners with failing sewage systems. This grant will help households whose income is at or below 100%, 200%, or 300% of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services poverty guidelines. The funding covers such expenses as soil evaluation, HSTS designs, permits, and installation including materials. As of September 29, six stage treatment systems have been installed, ten systems are ready to be installed, ten sites are ready for soil and design, and numerous applications are still being submitted. Applicants have been approved from nine townships with Lucas County. The work has been contracted out to five different companies.
